Art Journal Page

Here's a Art Journal page from our November Guest Designer, Connie Baever.

The page is made in an old book. Gesso is applied directly to the book
page, and after she stamped and wrote the text she covered the page with Aqua
Pastels and water.

The art journal page uses the Smashallaum 6122 from the Daniel Torrente an Jill Penney line of stamps from Stampotique.

Don't forget we have our Stampotique Designer's Challenge going on right now using Non-Traditional Christmas colors.  We hope you will join us using your Stampotique stamps.

We Three Kings by Joanne Wardle

As Christmas rapidly approaches, I find the need for quick and easy cards gets more urgent.
Here's an easy one made with one simple stamp from stampotique.
I have coloured the card with pencils, highlighted with glossy accents. I have also used some gilding flakes to accent the bands around the crowns. I finally finished with some gold cord.

Laugh

For this tag I used the cute Floating dog from Kira's new images. Isn't he cute this little doggie? These are the other stamps I used: Dogs laugh, Altered Laugh and Hanging hearts.

Have fun stamping!

Non-trad Christmas

Mink by Daniel Torrente
Splatter Long and Hearts cube by Jo Capper-Sandon
Sentiment by Carol's Collection

I'm loving the latest Stampotique Designers challenge - to create a non-traditional Christmas card. Anything non-traditional is right up my alley! This card is very similar to one I have made before but I wanted to make a Christmas version because I just love Mink's sullen expression and it goes so well with the sentiment. This card would be perfect for a real scrooge, and we all know one of those!

Have a look here if you fancy playing along with this fun challenge.

Bye for now, Kate

Misunderstood

Don't you just love the new monster images by Stampotique's newest Artist, Kira Nichols!

The monster is stamped in Black Archival on Watercolor paper, then masked.  To create the BG on both panels I used the Watercolor Distress Technique, using Ranger Distress Inks in Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint and Rusty Hinge.  Once dry, I removed the mask on the monster and stamped the sentiment in Ranger Black Archival.  To add color, I used STAEDTLER Karat Aquarell Watercolor Pencils, using Gamsol for blending, then added highlights with STAEDTLER Triplus Fineliners.  For the background panel, I added the Honeycomb in Ranger Black ink, and the Hexagon in Gesso.

Details:Stamps - Stampotique Originals Whisker Monster with SignHoneycomb , Hexagon
Ink - Ranger Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, Ranger Black Archival, Ranger Distress Stain Mustard Seed, Rusty Hinge, Peeled Paint, STAEDTLER Aquarell Watercolor Pencils, STAEDTLER Triplus Fineliner
Card Stock - Watercolor, Summer Sun, Black
Other - Gesso, Heat Tool, Non Stick Craft Mat, Prima Distress Tool, 3L Dimensionals
