A Friend's Birthday

Hello all, thanks for coming by on this summer Saturday. I'm guest posting today for Coby, her grandson is sick so please say a prayer for him.

I have a close  friend that has a birthday coming up (pretty soon, need to get this in the mail LOL) and I wanted to make her a card using my wonderful Stampotique stamps. She loves the weird characters of Daniel Torrente and Jill Penney so of course I had to use my fun stamps

For this card I used Stampotique Stamps

Prom Queen and Froggie by Daniel Torrente and Jill Penney

I created my background with Tim Holtz distress paints and then added a few stencils
Both girls were colored with copic markers and then adhered to the front of the card.

This was a fun card to make because my friend and I are always kidding each other about how much we are alike and how crazy and weird we are, so these character stamps were so perfect for this.

Thanks so much for coming by and I hope you have a wonderful day

my goodness, Sarah's made another card!

My little girl was 17 this week and as she's just finished a dance show Hazel dancing was the perfect image!

I used one of my new stamps 'Baroque background' for the grass, and Janet's lovely clouds cover up all the black smudges I can't help but add to my cards!!!

A few sparkles in the daisies and I was happy with my card.  Sorry for the short post, it's sheer madness at work at the moment!

Summer Love

Daniel Torrente's Mela and Josie  Cirincione's Little bird are featured in my "Summer Love" journal page.  The heat is on and Mela's expression says it all!
I love that Josie's little bird stamp is two-sided for either direction.  It's really a must-have stamp that fits in to any composition.

Tuesday with Val and a Postcard

Happy Tuesday!
Today I'd like to share a 4" x 6" postcard featuring Stampotique's fabulous Flamingo.
She has been paper pieced, colored with Copic markers and adorned with Jo's flower that has been outlined with Tombow markers, spritzed with a bit of water, stamped onto patterned paper, cut out and layered.  Isn't she fun?  I'd love to hear how you would finish this sentiment on the back of this card!!
Thanks for stopping by!

the joys of a bike on a summer's day

I'm back at work after my op and this is a majorly busy time in school so just a quick card from me today!!

The bicycle and bikeride text are both from Janet Klein's new collection.  Aren't they gorgeous?!

I added extra flowers to the basket (I hope Janet doesn't mind!) by stamping them on more card and cutting them out.  There's some sparkles in there too!

Astrid on Sunday

It's Sunday already, and this week I have made a card. I made this card for a friend, who recently gave birth to a baby boy. I cut the paper with MFT Die-Namics and colored them with Dylusions and Tattered Angels. I stamped with Archival Ink pads and the cute bunny was colored with Distress Markers. The sentiment was computer generated.

delivered to ...

I joined in a mail art swap this week and it inspired me to make another envelope!  The first one I made is now on it's way to Florida!!  When I passed it to the man in the post office to put a stamp on it he just said "oh!" when he saw it was full of colour and put the stamp in the middle, next to the address, so this time I made a space for one!!

I stamped 'dog' by Roc Nicholas (I just LoVe this stamp) over various bits of writing from the junk mail and bills that come through the door!  I thought it would be quite fun to use letter ephemera for my mail art!

'Paris Postcard' gave some great texture in the background, along with some stencilled ink, rub on letters and a touch of washi tape.

I can't wait for my mail art to pop through the door, it really brightens my day when a decorated envelope appears amongst the mass of common white or brown ones!!  Head over to my blog 'The Art of Moodling' if you'd like to see my other envelope :)

Wear the pretty dress (why don't 'ya?)

Have you ever saved that special dress for an occasion and never wore it?  Well I'm here to tell you, wear the dress.

A while back I bought a really cool dress for a trip. Not thinking I'd get much use out of it again I decided to wear it to work.  I received sooo many compliments.  To think, I may have deprived all my colleagues from seeing my pretty dress!

So Verdette and I are here to tell you, wear the pretty dress!  Because life IS too short.

Verdette is part of our latest release. She's fun and versatile and terrific for paper piecing.

Boxes - SDC151 - Wednesday's With Claudine

Hello again and thank you for coming by.

This week over at the Stampotique Designer's Blog the new challenge was chosen by our wonderfully talented Arwen McCullen and she has chosen the theme "Boxes"

I love the challenge of "boxes" and what better way to make a box but with Eileen Hull's Artist Trading Block Dies.
I used the smallest size for my project, it's the 1 1/2" x 1 1/2"
This one was the perfect size for the Stampotique Stamp I used

For this project I used the Stampotique Stamps

Scooter Girl - Roc Nicholas
Cross Hatch Swirl - Maryse Carrier
Blocks - Maryse Carrier
Tall Word Collage - Amy Wilson-Wellenstein
Great Moon - Jo Capper-Sandon (only used the star from this stamp)
Carol's Flower Small - Janet Klein
Daniel's Hearts - Daniel Torrente

I made a little "box cart" for my scooter girl

I hope I have given you a little inspiration to come and join us in this new challenge

Thanks for coming by,

Astrid on Sunday

Hello you!! I hope you have a happy Sunday so far.
Today I have an art journal page for you, made on my Gelli Plate. I have used 3 layers of paints and stencils. Stamped with a script stamp, with the color of my first layer, so it stays in the background. Stamped with the Dandelion stamp to create a border. The monsters (oh how I love them) are colored with Ditress Markers and put on some Washi tape, so they will not float on my page.

Celebrating Our 150th Challenge

Hello everyone and thanks again for joining me on this Wednesday, today Stampotique is celebrating their 150th challenge!! How exciting is that?!

We are excited at Stampotique that our fans have helped us grow so much and that our stamps, challenges and Facebook page have become such a big hit. In honor of our excitement, and our 150th challenge over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog  is CELEBRATION.
We want you to create with celebration in mind, whether it's celebrating a birthday, anniversary, wedding, graduation or new baby...let's celebrate!

Not to put a damper on our celebration, but our team is bidding a few of our members farewell. Maria has been with the team and has shown us how talented she is not only as an artist but as a stamp designer. Tanja has only been with us a short while but we have enjoyed seeing her creations each week. We celebrate the opportunity we had to have them on our design team and wish them the best.

We will NOT be having a new call for designers as our current designers will all be remaining for another term. We are happy to say we are looking for 4 new guest designers and so along with this fun challenge, we will pick some of our guest designers from those who are participating in our 150th challenge. Along with the chance to be a guest designer, we'll also be picking a random winner for a $30 gift certificate for Stampotique stamps.

Can't wait to see how you celebrate this week!

For my creation I used Archival inks and a stencil to make a bright and cheerful background

I then used Stampotique Stamps

All by artist Daniel Torrente
I colored them all with colics and cut them out. I cut one side of the cupcake and put it in Froggie's hand to make her look like she took a bite

I created the Celebrate word with a die and black card stock

Thanks again for coming by and I hope you have a wonderful week

Tuesday with Val and Mother Nature

I was sitting on the front porch this weekend
watching the bees attack the chive blossoms,
so when I cam across this scrap of paper,
I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it!
Isn't Mother Nature awesome!?!
