Tag, You're It!

I've made a tag today and joined in with the current challenge over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge blog. This week it's the turn of Astrid to choose the latest theme.. which is Tag, You're It!

I LOVE, love, love making tags! Here is mine for the latest challenge..

Another fun Stampotique designer's challenge this week. "French flair". This is my entry and these are the Stampotique stamps that I used for this card: Waltzing fleur and Enjoy today.

ATC Folder

 But I decided for this challenge this week to make an ATC folder that I had a lot of questions about when I did a similer one a few weeks a go, So here it is  with a short how to and with the odd photo or two thrown in for good measure.

I started with a piece of packaging that came with a set of rubber stamps (what else would it come with lol) I marked and cut this to a size of 26.5 x 7.5 cm.

You now have a long strip of card, mark this a intervals of 8.5cm, 11.5cm,1.5cm and the end piece is 5cm. This card is straight it's just the camera angle making it look a bit wonky.

Score along the lines,, rub out any pencil marks and then fold as in the following picture to get your cover, punch two holes as shown to put eylets in later.

I now flattened out my cover and decorated it using Gesso,  Paint, inks and rubber stamping. I added eyelets to the punched holes.

For the little pockets inside I used 6 wage envelopes, these measure approx 2.5 x 3.5 inches (the same size as an ATC) I cut the flaps off and leveled the tops as shown in the following photo.

I now stuck these together using DTS so they formed a  concertina pocket type thing. (technical term that) see photo.

I now attached this to the inside of the cover using DST and positioning as shown. On the shorter side of the cover only go up to the eylet hole with the DST or else you will not be able to get the ribbon tie through the hole.

To finish I coloured some crinkle ribbon using the same inks as I did for the cover add this through the eyelet holes as a tie to close it with.

Recycled Papers

Our July guest designer, Coby is sharing his recycled creation for our current Stampotique Designer's Challenge.

He used old paper to work on and coloured it with Distress Paints. The stamps are Daniel's Hearts and Clover.

Hello Stampotique-fans,

I'm Coby, 57 years, maried over more than 35 years with Ben. We have two daughters with partners and 3 grandchildren, 5, 3 and 1 years old. They life very near to us and we love that. We also have a dog and live in the Netherlands.

Since about two years I play with ink, paint, ecoline and much more. Love to make my own background paper. I did a couple of clases at inspiring people: Kate Crane, Donna Downey, Dina Wakley and Finnabair. I learned a lot from them and am still excersising what they teached me, learning every day.

On my 57-th birthday, last August I got the first Stampotique stamp and I was sold. I try to buy every now and then some to play with:-), have to play every day with my stamps, and weekly I'm joining on the challenge at SDC. So it's a great honor that I'm the guest designer this month. Hope you like my work.

The theme for this week's  Stampotique designer's challenge is "New adventures".  Here is my entry for this challenge, a card with one of the first gelliplate backgrounds that I made.  So a new technique adventure. These are the Stampotique stamps I used: Oscar Wilde and Spidergrass.

Birdy up Dominos

A quick little make here using the Birdy Up stamp. I have put magnets on the back of each of these and they are now sittin on the front of my freezer. I think I will have to work out a little code with them so I can alter their order around depending on my mood. I might label them with things like Crazy Bird and Stoppy Bird lol.

Listen to your Heart

Here's my card for this week's challenge, using "faux metal"! Heart Shirt is one of my favorite little guys - he's so stinkin' cute! And the message is When Heart Speaks, I just cut it apart after stamping. I created my little "metal" heart using embossing powder. The texture actually comes from the Hexagon stamp, pressed into the EP while it was still warm and melty.

When you love ...

It’s time for the new Stampotique designer’s challenge. “Faux metal” is this week’s theme. For this card I made a background with alcoholink and a bit of silver mixative. I made the hearts with silver embossingpowder and the wonderful Heart stamp from France Papillon, one of Stampotique’s latest designers.

Hey dear ones

                         First of all I am really happy to be here with you as a guest designer.

I love Stampotique and therefore it is a great honor for me :)

I would like to introduce myself:

I am Arwen and I live with my daughter and three cats in a village inGermany.  I am a single mom and 43 years old.  Creativity has determined my whole life.  My job is costume seamstress and I have mostly worked for the Middle Ages.  2004 I discovered stamping for me, and since then it can not get rid of me.  

At first I just stamped cutie stuff, but for some time my heart belongs tothe gloomy;)  Since I'm from the gothic scene, also tend my works there.  Unfortunately, there is in my area not many like-minded - Cutie is hotter.  When I discovered Stampotique a few years ago, I immediately lost my heartto this great motives.  My hobbies include, apart from the stamps still scrapbooking, reading,movies, music, sewing, writing.  I am currently writing a fantasy novel for young people.  If you like, then be sure to stop by on my blog.  Would be very happy about your visit :)

Reach Your Goals

Here is my little bookmark featuring "clear" things for this week's Stampotique Designer's Challenge.  The background is a resist technique created using the clear Goosebumps spray.  Just spray it on, let it dry and then rub the gorgeous inks from the gorgeous Kaleidacolor Tomatoe Vine ink pad over top!  Voila!  The moon, bunny and words are all cut from shimmering papers made by spraying Xpress-It paper with Fireworks Cantalope spray - it's homemade shimmer stock!  The piece is finished off with a few clear Dew Drops adhered with clear glue! :)  Be sure to play along with the challenge for your chance to win Stampotique bucks!

Dream in color

This card is my entry for this week's Stampotique designer's challenge. Libby asks us to use transparent elements. I used a transparent heartshaped button. I stamped the Dream definition on it with Stazon and I used that stamp in my background too. These are the other stamps I used: Dream in color and Lots of gifts. Clearly Time for a Cuppa

The kettle is always warm in my house, there is always time for a cuppa which was the inspiration for this creation for this weeks challege over at Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog, which this week is hosted by lovely team mate Libby. Libby is inviting us to use something clear in our creations, I've chosen to use an acrylic block, I guess we've all got one of those lying around our stash. This was also my first attempt at making faux flowers with UTEE. I do hope you like it and I thank you for looking.

Our Cousin Carmine

Looking very cool on this tag, hoping to attract the girls is Our Cousin Carmine. The large words are Rub-ons applied before the distress stain background. Great technique as the rub-ons resist the ink and really seem to pop. Finished with a bit of machine stitching round the edges.

A special event ..

On april the 30th Willem-Alexander was crowned king of the Netherlands. Although I am not really into royalty I thought it would be fun to make my april calender pages reflect to this special event and in the colours of our country. But with a twist of course ... Willem-Alexander and Maxima in Stampotique style.

Hey everyone, I’m delighted to be here, rubbing shoulders with the talented crew of Stampotique. Pinch me, I must be dreaming!

I’m Nicole, a color-loving, mixed-media artist from the western United States. 

In a fit of creating, I produced three boys in two and a half years (no twins!)  - they are now 16, 15 and 14 and possess a dark talent for growing out of shoes and emptying the fridge. In a joyous bit of karmic balance, I’m also mom to an 88 pound couch-warming mutt named Bubby who has my penchant for napping, snuggling and general quietness. My husband Chris and I have been married for eighteen blood-tingling years after a whirlwind two month courtship that culminated in our immigrating from Canada to America mere days after our honeymoon. 

We homeschool (which kind of explains the mummified chicken buried under our basement stairs) and I write on occasion for money. Sadly, I've only managed to sell articles on learning and parenting not my scandalous choose-your-own-adventure novels for grown-ups about reality TV. Bummer. 

Collage, art journalling, stamping and card making have been an essential part of my life for more than a decade. The cards never stick around long though, there's always someone I know who could use a little happiness when they open their mail. Paint is my worst addiction and I've rarely met a piece of packaging that doesn't beg to be up-cycled.

Recently I’ve been focusing the bulk of my creative time on mixed-media collages that I sell online, through Etsy, and at craft fairs.

My work can be seen in Memory Makers, Scrapbooks Etc., Family Fun, Home Education, ScrapStreet, Scrapbook News & Review, Art Journey Journal and the books Mod Podge Rocks!: Decoupage Your World and A Card a Day by Paper Crafts Magazine .
