SDC89: Triangles

Nellie is our hostess this week over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge and she's got a fun challenge for you!

I often like to incorporate geometric shapes in my cards, be it squares, circles, rectangles etc. So this week I challenge you to use such geometric shape  in your card or project. But not just  any shape you like. It has to be a TRIANGLE. Use just one or as many as you like.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with… So have fun stamping!

As you can see from my creation, I'm anything but a perfect seamstress. I had to laugh when I finished at how uneven my sewing is, but I went through the trouble of doing it and so I was going to post it.

I created my triangles but cutting some squares of scrap paper in half and then adhering the different patterns before sewing them.  I kept this card very simple adding this Decor #4 2166 stem and a small sentiment Thank You #9009.

Join us over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge today and show us what you can do with triangles.

In Glass Houses

At the moment I'm really enjoying playing with memory glass so thought I would make another cube but with a twist, well, it's a rectangle really. It was very easy to make and is a charming little ornament. By using shrink plastic with your stamps you can make these whimsical little worlds, just don't throw stones!
Wishing you a lovely day, Sam xxx

The stamps I used are Line Up, Tulip and Steampunk Border.

Sorry I just had to go with the Hatter quote there.

February Guest Designer: Corinne Rollet

Stampotique is excited about your next Guest Designer for February. You've seen her work frequently at the Stampotique Designer's Challenge. Please welcome Corinne this month:

My name is Corinne Rollet, but you’ll better know me as Coco or Coconut on the blogosphere. A crafty friend of mine, Nefertiti, gave me this funny nickname, and I decided to adopt it !
She also made a very funny creation on me, so here I am…

More seriously, I ’m a mum of 5 children (from 22 to 5 - 2 twins -) working as an engineer part-time, and living in France (Brittany). Unfortunately for my regular job, my kids and my husband, I have a terrible addiction to inks, paints and stamps… especially the Stampotique ones, for which I feel an ardent, unconditional and definitive LOVE.  So as you can imagine I was really, really THRILLED with the announcement of becoming Guest Designer for this month! My greatest dream would be to integrate the DT as a permanent yearly member !

I started as a scrapbooker in 2007, after I’ve lost a wonderful little girl from disease… Scrapping was a therapy against sorrow at first, before becoming a real and huge passion. From then I never stopped scrapping every day or nights sometimes when sleeps drops me... I think my crafty projects are not really sad however except on rare occasions, because my temperament is basically not sad, rather cheerful ! Additionally making funny and colored creations does me good.

My focus for scrapbooking was initially 12”x12” layouts and mini-albums, but I have now many other interests: I love making art tags, cards, mixed-media on AJ or canvas…. and also for a little while altering small objects. In fact I’m interested by a lot of stuff and techniques and I can really appreciate several styles, the only condition required is that beautiful stamps are present, with some nice details…
About my style, my own pleasure goes through projects full of many details. When I think to it, I’m not sure I have a particular style; I can just say that I’m able to spend hours on very little details !! and also that I like brilliant colors …  I have always one or two projects in progress spread on the sideboard of my living room (which is also my scrap room unfortunately boo…   ) since I love adding one element here and there, hour after hour or day after day !!! For me, the only things I can’t do are sewing and drawing… Don’t never ask me to sew back on a button, I’m not able to (even hate that), except for some crafty creation, that’s the paradox !
Finally about my venture of blogging and participating to Stampotique designers challenges, I really want to say how much I have learned over the last months from you all - your blogs, creations, posts, challenges and tutorials are an incredible university and a never-ending source of entertainment and inspiration! So a big thank to each and every one… And it is needless to say how much I appreciate support and friendship from everywhere in the world, that does so good when you’re feeling low ! I look forward to sharing my creations with you at my blog: http://scrapcocofolies.canalblog.com. Don’t hesitate to visit me and leave a message in English if you like, even if I’m writing in French ! And sorry for the possible mistakes I could do in English, but remember it’s not my mother tongue…
