Chipboard and Stamping

I'm lucky to be on 2 Design Teams whose products work so well together! I've used stamping onto these chipboard arches:

On the first one I used ~{Baby Cthulhu}~ and ~{Enjoy Life}~.

For the second one I've stamped ~{Small Moon}~ then carefully painted it. Then stamped the star from the stamp over the base and used ~{Shoot for the moon}~ sto add a quote.

Art Journal Page: Snow Fun

This whole week we have been treated with snow here in the Netherlands. Although we where a bit under the weather, we tried to enjoy ourselves. Our little boy could finally try out is new sled :-D
Because we don't get a lot of snow here, I had to make a art journal page about it of course. For this occasion I gave Smile a warm shawl. The title says "Snow Fun" in Dutch.

SDC82: Punches and Die Cuts

My Team mate Astrid  from Stampotique Designers Challenge is asking us to play with Punches and Dies... I took this a step farther and added in my Silhouette.
I love textures and cutouts so I wanted to use as many as I could. On the Silhouette I made the stars, doily and chevron came from the inside of the stars. The border and arrows are Sizzix dies. The pinking edges are from Fiskars scissors. Lastly- Martha Stewart circle punch.

Heads Will Roll

This idea came to me over Christmas time whilst playing board games. It's a quick and easy make and completed in an afternoon.
Firstly I painted a wooden block with dark brown paint and then when dry with pink paint and scratched and distressed it at the edges with a craft knife and some sanding paper till some of the brown paint showed through. I stamped Two Sticks 21 times and cut off his head, ouch! Stuck his heads to my block and I now have a funky dice.
It may even bring me good luck.
Wishing you a lovely, crafty day, Sam xxx

Happy New Year! Guest Designer & Challenge

Happy New Year!

We are excited today to start off the year with a whole new crew of guest designers.  Kicking off 2013, we welcome Kristen Catalano as she joins us as our first guest designer.

Here is some more about Kristen:

My name is Kristen Catalano, I live in Nashua, New Hampshire and I work as a nurse. I live with my husband Paul, and my two children; Abbey, 11 and Ryan, 6 and our dog Remy.

I started as a scrapbooker many years ago, but have since have become a card maker and now I completely enjoy altered media and journaling.  My favorite supplies are stamps, sprays, and paints.  If I don’t end up messy by the time I am done crafting, I wasn’t productive

I wish I could tell you what my “style” is, but I am still trying to figure that out myself.  I guess I could say that I am cutesy with a dark side….LOL.  I was thrilled to be asked to be a guest designer for Stampotique, as I completely LOVE their stamps, and they have the most amazing design team.  I look forward to sharing my creations with you. My blog addy is: http://scrap-creations1.blogspot.com/ Feel free to stop by and let me know what you think.
************************************************
We are starting off the year by also sponsoring a challenge over at Party Time Tuesdays. We are giving away a $30 gift certificate over there for Stampotique stamps.

They are ringing in the New Year with a "Celebration" theme.

Here are some of our design team showing off their celebration creations:

SDC80: Out with the old, in with the new

Out with the old, In with the new.

Use something Old and Something New
On your project with a New Year's Theme

My Team mate Clarie is asking us to use something old with something new.
I came across some old sequence laying around in my stash of goodies and glassine bags. And immediately thought of New Year's Eve. We celebrate by visualizing a dream we have and at the strike of midnight we throw the confetti into the air .
The OLD is my Sequence and my NEW are some New stamps from Stampotique.

Stamps I used from left to right.

This is another card that I made using a stripe of paint as the base of the card.

I've used Maria's ~{Zara Gift}~ which is just perfect for a little girl's card. I've used DI's as watercolours for this one  and added Glossy Accents to the balloons and bubbles.

I've finished off with ~{Happy Birthday}~.

Little Angel

Here is a little angel ornament I recently created for the current challenge over on the Stampotique Designer's Challenge.

I stamped Girl with heart purse onto a wooden angel shape using StazOn and hand drew the wings using a fine liner pen. After colouring with Copic markers I covered the ornament in a light dusting of twinkly embossing powder. She looks very comfy and 'at home' sitting on our tree with the other decorations.

Wishing you all a happy Christmas and enjoyable Holiday

The Holiday is approaching ever so quickly. Right?
My Stampotique Team Mate Maria is asking us to make a last minute ornament for the tree.

Maybe it is because they are 3 dimensional.
I hope that you will visit the other creations from my team mates at
They are really talented folks and they always get my creative juices to flow.

Angels on the trees

After using both of Daniels Tree Toppers ~{Large}~ and ~{Small}~ on different projects, I thought it was time they sat on trees.

I made some mini trees and added a touch of colour to the angels, some glitter glue to the wings and Glossy Accents to the hearts. They had pins attached to the back and were then pinned into place.

Oh baubles, it's that time of year again

Perfect for last minute Christmas tree decorations are these clear plastic baubles made pretty using the smallest character from the Line Up stamp and some mica flakes. You could make a whole set using all the characters and different sized baubles!
This is the other side so when it's on the tree spinning it will be both contrasting yet complimentary images.
It wouldn't be complete without the flourish of silver ribbon.
They are great fun to make and very quick, I made mine in just under an hour.
Wishing you a wonderful day, Sam xxx

Gift Giving

It is the gift giving season & to celebrate that we are wrapping! I made this wrap out of plain packing paper and color sprays, with touches of gold acrylic paint. Such a great way to make your own wrapping paper-and recycle too!

A fun contrast is adding Daniel Torrente's Christmas Ornaments with white embossing. Just be sure your paper is very dry before you emboss. You could also re-recycle this paper after the gift is opened by using it as an art journal background paper or die cut shapes out of it and use it for embellishments.

For the tag I embossed in gold and colored Mr. Tangled Enthusiasm with pens. After inking the tag with distress inks I used Stickles for the lights to add some bling. The Christmas saying is a wonderful stamp by Maryse Carrier. Coloring it in a contrasting color helps it pop.

A big thanks to Stampotique for letting me design for them this month! Have a happy holidays!  (Karen:  Stampotique thanks you for being a part of our team this month and showing off your gorgeous creations!)
