Welcome Door

Lisa Mason has created a gorgeous card that looks like it has many layers to it, but it is a one layer card for our challenge this week over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge.

CAS challenge card- This is a large 8x8" card, with Mela stamped and watercoloured in using gorgeous Distress Ink colours. The bottom section was masked off and inked and stamped with Bla bla bla. Gussie up is my all time favourite sentiment, it makes me smile every single time!

Twinchie Time

I've very recently discovered twinchies, and fear they could take over my life! The background is spray inks and a stencil, and the Vintage Script has been embossed in white. Carol's Flower (small) and Daisy Daisy have been coloured  with viva glass and pearl paints. My love affair with glass glitter and mica flakes continue with the stems.
These are great fun to make, so if you've never twinchied before, give it a go.
Thanks very much for looking x

It's A "Rubbish" Christmas Ornament!!!

Literally! I've taken an old sardine can and turned it into a Christmas Ornament using  Brrr...SnowmanPicket FenceChristmas Mosaic and Abstract Foliage (which I have to say, makes the coolest snow capped tree!). I haven't fully decided yet as to if it should be free standing, displayed as it is in the picture or if it should hang... decisions, decisions!

Thanks for stopping by today.

True Love

Our guest designer, Lisa Mason is here again today to share with us this super cool canvas she created for our current challenge over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge to "Alter It":

I've made this for my husband for our wedding anniversary. The canvas is painted with acrylic pants, and Lovely are the sound is stamped onto tissue paper- this works much better than stamping straight to canvas. He's a gorgeous image- a little bit sad, a little bit romantic, and perfect for my dramatic black and red colour scheme.

Central Park

One of the highlights of my summer was a family trip to New York City. So when I saw this adorable little Central Park stamp, I absolutely had to have it! This card was quick and simple, I just stamped the image and then colored it with my watercolor crayons. The Good things, good thoughts sentiment is just perfect, I am certainly full of good thoughts when I remember New York!

My four year old daughter was watching my use my Central Park stamp and watercolor crayons and wanted to try it for herself. Here is her masterpiece!

The Red Strokes

It's official, I love Stampotique Stamps, like you didn't know that already! I also love most things cowboy, particularly Garth Brooks and his music. The first song of Garth's that I heard was The Red Strokes which inspired this postcard using the great Jill Penney, Daniel's Hearts and Tall Word Collage stamps. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, bringing my two favourite things together, yee haw!

Wishing you a lovely day, Sam xxx

Joyful collage card

I've had great fun using the Joyful collage stamp for a card this week and included one of my hand-made buttons.

  Isn't she a cutie!

I've also used Splatter Long on my card which is such a handy stamp to keep in your collection. Thank you for calling today and leaving a comment if you get the chance. Gez

Carrot Cake

Lisa Mason, our guest designer for August is sharing her interpretation of the sketch this week over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge.  Hope you will join us over there as we do weekly challenges now allowing any stamps.

Here is a little more about Lisa's creation:

Carrot is one of my all time favourites, and fit perfectly onto this card sketch, once I'd decided on an orange colour scheme. As often happens when using Stampotique stamps, I felt I needed a quirky saying or sentiment to finish the card off. Thinking of poor little carrot worrying about being made into carrot cake made me smile.

The Twilight Zone

I have been playing with my lovely new stamps that arrived yesterday, and I made this quick little postcard using Oh boys, Welcome Door and Text Stars. The background is just painted to try and make them look as if they are going into the vortex. My quote is computer generated.

Thank you for looking and enjoy the rest of your day. Carol x

Atc, just another brick in the wall!

I've made an artist trading card this week using a couple of new products to me and knew that Daniel Torrente & Jill Penney's stamps would be the perfect images for my card.

Stamps used: Head, Kitty, Batty and Batty About You

This was such a fun artist trading card to make using Viva Terra through a stencil to get the brick wall effect. Thank you for calling, have a great day, Gez.

August Guest Designer: Lisa Mason

We had such a fabulous turnout for our current design team call and unfortunately we were unable to take everyone, but we found a few new guest designers along the way and are so excited that they wanted to work with Stampotique for a month.  Our August Guest Designer does some fabulous designs with Stampotique, welcome Lisa Mason this month.  Here's a little more about her:

I'm Lisa Mason (Lisa Sparkle), and I was thrilled to be invited to be a guest designer on my favourite challenge blog! Anyone who knows me in a crafty way will know how much I worship my Stampotique stamp collection. They are the most used, looked at and stroked stamps that I own, and I own a LOT of stamps!.

By day I work for a UK university, as a Learning and Skills development manager. In my spare time I'm a stampaholic, and a huge Stampotique fan! I live in the Midlands in the UK, with my husband and two beautiful children, and I love to create bright and colourful projects that make people smile. I've recently found my own style, and I'm happy creating with colour, with a touch of humour and with a lot of mess! I make and swap ATCs regularly, make cards, journal and have boxes full of things to alter one day!

I'm honoured to be asked to guest design with such a talented and inspirational DT, it's a dream come true and I can't wait to share some creations with you all. My blog is at www.lisasparkleandstamps.blogspot.com please come and visit and let me know what you think of my projects!

For this altered thimble display cabinet, I decided to use every Stampotique stamp I own! Well, almost.... I used shrink plastic coloured with pencils, and made a whole set of images. The cabinet was painted and distressed and filled with little things I've salvaged and collected- chess pieces, jewellery parts, zipper pulls, springs, teeny tiny charms. The Stampotique critters each got their own space- it looks as if they live there!

We have our new design team announcement over on the Stampotique Designer's Challenge so join us over there to see who we have chosen to join us on our Stampotique journey for the next few months.
