Wedding

Ali Johnson our August Guest Designer has created this gorgeous wedding card for the Stampotique Designer's Challenge this week and for her upcoming anniversary.

For this project I used the Hochzeit stamp. I made a card blank from grey cardstock and cut a smaller panel of white card. I stamped Hochzeit over one edge of the white panel and stamped it again onto a post-it note and used this to mask the image while I spritzed the panel with Dylusions spray inks and splattered watered-down black paint across it. I doodled a border with a fineliner pen and attached the panel to the card, then stamped the Hochzeit image again onto white card, cut it out and layered it onto the card using foam pads, off-setting it slightly over the image on the panel. To finish, I layered die-cut sentiments in grey and white card and added some black gemstones.

Stick It To Me!

I love making things to embellish my home and if they are personal I love them even more. Regular visitors to my blog will probably be familiar with Poppy, my fur baby. She's adorable and brings with her so much love and joy. Each day whilst on a walk she will find a stick and bring it home, when we get home she will leave the stick by the gate.
One morning last week I thought it be nice to make something using one of Poppy's sticks. Poppy joins me in my art room and she really did have a puzzled look on her face when she saw a stick among my stamps. Inspiration for the wire work came from Pinterest. This was a great opportunity to really go wild with my imagination and art materials and have lots of fun.
Poppy and I really hope you like it!
Thanks for looking and we wish you a wonderful day xxx

Polka dots

Our August guest designer, Ali Johnson got inky with this journal page for the  current Stampotique Designer's Challenge to use polka dots.

For this one I've used the Jeepers stamp to make an art journal page. I used paints (mostly Dylusions), stencils, texture paste and Pan Pastels to make the background (using a dotty stencil to fit with the theme :D) and then also stamped onto the page using Splatter Long (3014)  (from my own stash).

I stamped the Jeepers stamp onto paper and drew in and coloured my own body for her, using Promarkers to colour and also using the Bla Bla Bla (6001) stamp (from my own stash) on the dress. I cut her out and attached to the journal page.

The journaling was handwritten and cut out into strips before being outlined and attached to the page.

Stop on over to Ali's blog and say "hi" to her.

Quiet Place

Our August guest designer, Ali Johnson created this beautiful card for the current Stampotique Designer's Challenge to use purple, yellow and orange.

Here's how Ali created her card:

I used the Carol's Flower, large - 9165 stamp for this project and used Distress inks and a faux batique technique (stamping with Versamark ink, embossing with clear embossing powder, blending Distress Inks over the panel and then ironing over the panel (with scrap paper on top) to re-melt and lift off the embossing) to make the background. I also stamped the flower a couple of times with black Archival ink and used a wet paintbrush to paint them with Distress Inks before cutting them out, shaping the petals a little and attaching to the card with foam pads, adding a layer of Glossy Accents to the flower centres to finish. Distress Ink colours used were Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Dusty Concord.

The sentiment was stamped with one of the stamps I already had (Quiet Place - 3011) and cut out into strips, the edges of which I outlined with a black pen before attaching to the card front.

Make sure to stop over at Ali's blog and let her know how much you love her cool card.

August Guest Designer

July passed us by in a flash and we hope you enjoyed seeing our guest designer, Coby van Willigenburg, creations this month. We've enjoyed having him, and look forward to seeing Coby's creations more with the challenges-he's a frequent participant.

August brings us a new guest designer and we are excited to announce her, Ali Johnson.

Here's a little more on Ali:

I'm Ali, I live in Yorkshire, in the UK, with my husband, my two gorgeous daughters, my two cats and my perennially chaotic and overflowing craft room! I've been papercrafting for around 9 years, beginning with scrapbooking and expanding into cardmaking, circle journals, tags, ATCs, art journaling, mixed media projects, you name it! My creativity really took off when I discovered stamping a few years ago and now I use some form of stamping on nearly all my projects and am happily addicted to buying more stamps for my ever-expanding collection. I love the versatility of rubber stamping and all the amazing different techniques you can use to create different results every time. I'm at my happiest when I've got inky, painty, messy hands. :)

You can visit Ali here on her blog:  Alipeeps' Art

Looking forward to seeing what Ali creates with her Stampotique stamps.
