Stack Those Birdies

For the clear challenge this week I've used acetate and stickles and water soluble pastels (which I didn't think would work on acetate but really do) :-)
I've used
Stack of birds
Row of Numbers
Fax To Wolfgang
Vintage Script
Banner
Can you believe the sun was shining the day I made this, hope it's shining for you today.
Thanks very much for looking x

Dream in color

This card is my entry for this week's Stampotique designer's challenge. Libby asks us to use transparent elements. I used a transparent heartshaped button. I stamped the Dream definition on it with Stazon and I used that stamp in my background too. These are the other stamps I used: Dream in color and Lots of gifts. Hope you'll join in too and show us your beautiful tranpartent creation!

Have fun stamping!

Clearly Time for a Cuppa

The kettle is always warm in my house, there is always time for a cuppa which was the inspiration for this creation for this weeks challege over at Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog, which this week is hosted by lovely team mate Libby. Libby is inviting us to use something clear in our creations, I've chosen to use an acrylic block, I guess we've all got one of those lying around our stash. This was also my first attempt at making faux flowers with UTEE. I do hope you like it and I thank you for looking.
The team will be looking forward to seeing your clear creations and don't forget there is the chance to win $30 Stampotique Gift Vouchers!
Wishing you a lovely day, Sam xxx

Our Cousin Carmine

Looking very cool on this tag, hoping to attract the girls is Our Cousin Carmine. The large words are Rub-ons applied before the distress stain background. Great technique as the rub-ons resist the ink and really seem to pop. Finished with a bit of machine stitching round the edges.

Stamps used.

We are currently sponsoring the last challenge over at The Altered Alice, join us for your chance to win a $30 gift certificate for stamps at Stampotique.

"Chapter 27 will be the last regularly scheduled challenge here on The Altered Alice. Due to pressures of work, health, and family activities I am not able to keep up with running the monthly challenges any longer. We will continue to have random challenges, Alice posts and Linky tools so you can show us your Alice and perhaps some blog candy now and then, but it will not be in formally scheduled challenges. Please continue to subscribe and to share your Alice artwork! The last post is still open for you to share old Alice favorites.

Anything goes, so show us your best! We will begin on Mother's day, May 12 and end on Father's Day, June 16. Your last day to submit projects will be Friday, June 14. Multiple entries are encouraged but each must be on a separate post. For our last challenge, only Wonderland projects are allowed!"

A special event ..

April paginas
april detail
On april the 30th Willem-Alexander was crowned king of the Netherlands. Although I am not really into royalty I thought it would be fun to make my april calender pages reflect to this special event and in the colours of our country. But with a twist of course ... Willem-Alexander and Maxima in Stampotique style.

These are the stamps I used for my pages: CrownCrown quoteBannerToby and Minky girl

May Guest Designer: Nicole Maki

We bid farewell to our April guest designer Debbie, we are thrilled she joined us this past month and loved seeing her creations with Stampotique.

For May, I'm excited to introduce an amazing artist, Nicole Maki.  Her canvases are out of this world and I think you all will love what she creates with Stampotique. Hop on over to Stampotique Designer's Challenge today to see Nicole's pink & turquoise creation for this week's challenge.

Hey everyone, I’m delighted to be here, rubbing shoulders with the talented crew of Stampotique. Pinch me, I must be dreaming!

I’m Nicole, a color-loving, mixed-media artist from the western United States.

In a fit of creating, I produced three boys in two and a half years (no twins!)  - they are now 16, 15 and 14 and possess a dark talent for growing out of shoes and emptying the fridge. In a joyous bit of karmic balance, I’m also mom to an 88 pound couch-warming mutt named Bubby who has my penchant for napping, snuggling and general quietness. My husband Chris and I have been married for eighteen blood-tingling years after a whirlwind two month courtship that culminated in our immigrating from Canada to America mere days after our honeymoon.

We homeschool (which kind of explains the mummified chicken buried under our basement stairs) and I write on occasion for money. Sadly, I've only managed to sell articles on learning and parenting not my scandalous choose-your-own-adventure novels for grown-ups about reality TV. Bummer.

Collage, art journalling, stamping and card making have been an essential part of my life for more than a decade. The cards never stick around long though, there's always someone I know who could use a little happiness when they open their mail. Paint is my worst addiction and I've rarely met a piece of packaging that doesn't beg to be up-cycled.

Recently I’ve been focusing the bulk of my creative time on mixed-media collages that I sell online, through Etsy, and at craft fairs.
My work can be seen in Memory Makers, Scrapbooks Etc., Family Fun, Home Education, ScrapStreet, Scrapbook News & Review, Art Journey Journal and the books Mod Podge Rocks!: Decoupage Your World and A Card a Day by Paper Crafts Magazine .

I’d love it if you visited me at my blog, www.madebynicole.blogspot.com

Warmly,
Nicole
