Faux water drops

In this post i will show you how to create faux water droplets on your cards. Of course you could use store bought drops but those are all the same size and to be honest, they do not look as real as these drops i hope show on this picture.

All you need is a finished card, UTEE, a heat tool and embossing ink.

Take your finished card and lightly dab your embossing pad across the card. Do not try and cover the entire card with a thick layer, just lightly dab,not pressing too hard.

Now cover your card with UTEE. It needs to be Ultra Thick embossing powder, regular embossing powder does not have the same result.

Tap off excess powder and put that back in the container.

Use your heat tool to melt the UTEE. Do not overheat the UTEE! Just melt it a bit and stop as soon as you see droplets form! If you overheat, you will create a solid layer of UTEE. ( which can also be a cool effect but it is not what we are after for now)

Rub off any crumbs that do not stick to the paper or have not melted.

Now you should have this effect. Cool faux water drops to give that watery feel to your mermaid cards!

Killer tip! I love the look of the UTEE before it goes solid, but never thought to use it for the obvious water drops! Thanks for sharing!
