Big Whoop

We want to say a big Thank you to our guest designer for March, Belinda Spencer for sharing her creativity with us month. We've had fun seeing her creations each week and look forward to seeing her creations in the challenges.

Here is a little extra project I created for this challenge just because I really do love any excuse to use my stencils!!

This time I have created a more grungy card with an adorable, spooky little Batboy. The background is made up of torn book paper pieces with Gel Medium scraped across a diamond pattern stencil with a palette knife. Once dry I have added various Distress Inks and Glimmermist and stamped the Bla Bla Bla quote in black Staz On. Lastly I added my pieced together Batboy with some wings added from Lovelyarethesound.

Thank you so much to everyone at Stampotique for inviting me to be guest designer once again. I adore these stamps and looking forward to a lot more stamping with them!!

Happy stamping everyone.
Cheers
Belinda

Have a wonderful Spring

Going with an Easter theme this week, while my card doesn't have the Easter greeting, it has an Easter theme with this cute little "bunnies".  This is one of my favorite images, just love the little peeps peeking out of the basket.

Kept my card very CAS this week,  using a solid paper from one of my paper packs as my background and used a small piece of May Arts Woven Burlap as my "tab".

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter this weekend, enjoy the time with family and friends.

Cutest Pup in the Block

My last memory glass cubed world was quite popular so I thought I would make another, this time it's really tiny measuring just  1 inch x 1 inch.
I have to confess to being slightly addicted to this little dog stamp at the moment, it's appearing on nearly everything I make, it's just sooo cute!
The stamps used are Toto, Heart Flowers and Medium Bee. They were all stamped on to shrink plastic and coloured with Prismacolour pencils.
I hope you like it?
Wishing you a very lovely day, Sam xxx

Spring Themed Card

Our guest designer Belinda shares with us a little more on her spring card here:
I love it when spring finally arrives!!
It may have something to do with the fact that I hate summer with its threat of bushfires here as well as slithery things waiting to freak me out around the farm. So I decided to create a card that shows how happy I am that we made it through summer and that spring is here.

I created a scene on my card with patterned paper, tearing the green spotty paper for the grass. I stamped Baby Fleur 3 on various papers and cut out and pieced together. I created multiple layers of petals around its sweet little face and curled them slightly at the ends to create more of a 3D effect. I stamped the Garden Block Background onto some white cardstock and cut some clouds and individual words from it to add to the card as spring means flowers to me. Next I added some tiny bees as well as the quote .

Magical Wish Card

Here is my card based on the awesome sketch for this week’s challenge over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge.

I created a multi-layered background using various mediums including gesso, book paper, gel medium, Distress Ink, Glimmermist, and Faber Castell Gelatos. I stamped the “Lovelyare thesound” image #6147 on various pattern papers and pieced him together. The sentiment comes from the “Tall Word Collage” #7167.

You can see a tutorial on my blog on how I created this card.

Cheers

Happy Birdy Up

I've made this card for my youngest niece, Lucy, who is 14 today.

I didn't make it easy on myself though as this required masking and stamp positioning, but she's worth it (if I don't say that I'm in BIG trouble).

I've used the birds from ~{Birdy Up}~ individually and sat them on or hiding behind ~{Tenticurl}~.

The birds are coloured with Copics and there's a hefty amount of doodling to finish off. The greeting is my favourite ~{Happy Birthday}~.

Under the Sea

Under the Sea Art Journal Page

“I’d like to be under the sea in an octopus’s garden in the shade…”This is what I found myself singing as I was creating this art journal page, my first project as guest designer and my very first art journal page. The page didn’t start out based on any song at all. It started off completely different but then took on a life of its own influenced by the wonderfully wicked Smushasha #6121.

The page is made up of many layers of various mediums to create a magical and ‘mysterious-looking place’ to suit the quote stamp “World All Her Own” #3035. I had so much fun getting all painty and inky with this page. I hope you like it too and feel inspired to get painty and inky yourself.

Thankyou so much Stampotique for inviting me to be a guest designer!!

March Guest Designer: Belinda Spencer

We are thrilled with our next Guest Designer, she's a frequent player in our challenges and we know she's a big fan of Stampotique.  Welcome Belinda Spencer as our March Guest Designer!

My name is Belinda Spencer and I have been scrapping since 2003. I live on a farm in the Adelaide Hills with my husband Brenton, my two children; Hayley, 7 and William 6, our dogs Merlin and Ziva, a neurotic brown Burmese called Noodle as well as lots of cows, deer and chooks (not to mention the koalas, kangaroos, snakes and lizards that pop in from time to time).

My main focus for scrapbooking has always been 12” x 12” layouts but more recently I have become addicted to cardmaking and artist trading cards.

My style tends to include elements of shabby chic, vintage, fussy cutting and a touch of grunge. I love to include texture, dimension and different techniques. These days I cannot seem to complete a layout or card without gesso, Distress Inks and Glimmermist.

My inspiration comes from my children, blog surfing, magazines, product and other scrappers that I admire.

I have been published in Scrapbook Creations and Scrapbooking Memories magazines.

I currently teach at Seriously Scrapbooking in Adelaide, am a Design Team member at The Dusty Attic and The Scrapbook Store and 2013 Creative Team member for Darkroom Door.

I am so thrilled to be a guest designer for Stampotique. I have loved these stamps since I first laid eyes on them and am converting all of my card class attendees into Stampotique addicts too!

You can see more of my work on my blog http://happyscrapspace.blogspot.com/Let the challenges begin!!

Cheers
Belinda
