Put on your Party Dress!

I hope that you enjoyed a Happy Holiday with your friends and family! I've been a bit of a slacker as far as stamping goes for the last couple of weeks, but this week I enjoyed stamping for fun and playing in some of the challenges over at Splitcoaststampers. Today the challenge was to Break out the Party Dress.

Janet Klien's Pretty Party Dress is the perfect image for paper piecing. I stamped the image on the pretty paper from Splendid collection by Authentique. Don't you love the coordinating papers? It makes designing cards with multiple designer paper so easy! I cut a tiny tag from my Tim Holtz die and added a diction cardstock sticker, also from Authentique. Scalloped punches add a little punch for a border and some foliage from a Sizzix Sizzlit adds a little more dimension.

If you're donning your favourite Party dress to ring in the New Year, enjoy a fun and safe evening.
Wishing you all the best in 2012

Last minute gift by Joanne Wardle

m

To fit in with this month's challenge of gifts, cards and tags, I decided to share my last minute gift ideas. I often give Amazon vouchers as gifts, but any voucher that prints out onto an A4 sheet of paper will work.

I simply fold the voucher into thirds both ways to create a "z-fold" and then add covers (8cm x11cm) (be aware that the cover is attached to the top left corner of the voucher so make sure that there isn't any important information there.

The covers can then be decorated anyway you like. I have used Stamps from Stampotique.

We Three Kings by Joanne Wardle

As Christmas rapidly approaches, I find the need for quick and easy cards gets more urgent.
Here's an easy one made with one simple stamp from stampotique.
I have coloured the card with pencils, highlighted with glossy accents. I have also used some gilding flakes to accent the bands around the crowns. I finally finished with some gold cord.

Non-trad Christmas

Mink by Daniel Torrente
Splatter Long and Hearts cube by Jo Capper-Sandon
Sentiment by Carol's Collection

I'm loving the latest Stampotique Designers challenge - to create a non-traditional Christmas card. Anything non-traditional is right up my alley! This card is very similar to one I have made before but I wanted to make a Christmas version because I just love Mink's sullen expression and it goes so well with the sentiment. This card would be perfect for a real scrooge, and we all know one of those!

Have a look here if you fancy playing along with this fun challenge.

Bye for now, Kate

Misunderstood

Don't you just love the new monster images by Stampotique's newest Artist, Kira Nichols!

The monster is stamped in Black Archival on Watercolor paper, then masked.  To create the BG on both panels I used the Watercolor Distress Technique, using Ranger Distress Inks in Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint and Rusty Hinge.  Once dry, I removed the mask on the monster and stamped the sentiment in Ranger Black Archival.  To add color, I used STAEDTLER Karat Aquarell Watercolor Pencils, using Gamsol for blending, then added highlights with STAEDTLER Triplus Fineliners.  For the background panel, I added the Honeycomb in Ranger Black ink, and the Hexagon in Gesso.

Details:Stamps - Stampotique Originals Whisker Monster with SignHoneycomb , Hexagon
Ink - Ranger Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, Ranger Black Archival, Ranger Distress Stain Mustard Seed, Rusty Hinge, Peeled Paint, STAEDTLER Aquarell Watercolor Pencils, STAEDTLER Triplus Fineliner
Card Stock - Watercolor, Summer Sun, Black
Other - Gesso, Heat Tool, Non Stick Craft Mat, Prima Distress Tool, 3L Dimensionals
