Tuesday with Val and a Shaped Card

Today I would like to share 3 techniques!

  1. Shaped card: First, I stamped the chair on polka dot paper and pasted it to my card front.  I then cut through all layers (chair, card front, and card back) to create a shaped card.
  2. Paper piecing: Next, I stamped the chair on a baroque paper, cut out the arm covers and chair skirt and pasted them over the polka dot paper.
  3. Altered stamp: Finally, I inked the edges and face of the spotted monster (avoiding the dots in the centre) and drew in little hearts instead of spots just for Valentine's Day!

Thanks so much for dropping by!
Val :)

Very cute and love the way you spelt 'chairish' - very clever!

The sentiment is very cute. i have seen a lot of chair art, but yours is the most brilliant use of the word. Lil monster looks so happy in pink heart.

Love your card, Val! A lot of work, but well worth the time and effort. I have to admit that Jean Kerr's quote is absolutely true! ;-)
